Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This policy explains what information Delhi's Kitchen (“we”) collects when you use our website and mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep this deliberately simple: we collect only what is needed to run a recipe-sharing service.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email address, and any display name, username, bio or profile photo you choose to add.
- Content you create — recipes, photos, videos, ingredients, comments and replies you post.
- Activity — recipes you like or save, and basic view counts on recipes.
- Technical data — standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
- To provide the service: showing recipes, letting you sign in, comment, like and save.
- To notify a recipe's author when someone comments on or likes their recipe.
- To send essential emails, such as verifying your email address or resetting your password.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on our own private server (hosted in Germany) rather than a third-party consumer platform. Passwords are stored securely hashed; we never see them in plain text.
Third-party services
- AI features (Anthropic). If a creator uses the optional “Enhance with AI” or social-caption features, the relevant recipe text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate suggestions. This applies to recipe content only — never to your account credentials.
- Email delivery. Verification and account emails are sent through our own mail server.
Photos and videos
The mobile app asks permission to access your photo library only so you can attach a photo to a recipe you are creating. Media you select is uploaded solely to publish that recipe. We do not scan or access your library in the background.
Cookies and local storage
We use local storage (and on the app, secure device storage) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
- You can edit your profile, change your password, and edit or delete your recipes at any time.
- You can delete your comments.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated content by contacting us.
Children
This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update this page and revise the “last updated” date above.
